The man behind the chair

San Antonio soul.
Before the barbershop, Tommie Gonzalez worked in television, broadcasting, and the music business. Time spent in Berlin and across Northern Europe sent him toward a new kind of craft—one built around skill, conversation, and human connection.
He trained in Texas, Washington, and at the London School of Barbering. Today, he is a licensed barber and instructor who brings that wide-world perspective home to downtown San Antonio.
Sharp cuts. Bigger purpose. Tommie also leads a Monday volunteer program providing haircuts to residents of Haven for Hope alongside students and fellow volunteers.
